In “Artygene”, we explore characteristics (we call them “genes”) of artists, their life, their works and the stories behind them.
This research series is devoted to artists who incorporate art into their everyday life and make new perspectives and ideas available to us.
This book, from “ARTIGENE” book series, is our first attempt to review and discover the “artist gene” of artists who were able to take care of themselves with art so that their life can be put“art” and “artist” in front of our eyes.
In this book we explore the art and life of Iranian artist Hamid Reza Jahani; A passionate and
self-aware artist who is also a lifelong art teacher. The painting is perhaps a gift that he took from kindness and he kindly gives to others. Jahani’s painting is nothing else than his life.

آرتي‌ژن نام مجموعه‌اي از کندوکاوهاي گالري شهرياران است در زندگي و آثار هنرمنداني که “ژن” هنرمندانه‌شان را مراقبت کردند تا هنر در زندگي‌شان آميخته باشد. مجموعۀ «آرتیژن» به هنرمندانی مي‌پردازد که نقاشی برایشان چیزی جز زندگی خودشان نیست.
کتاب “شهر بي‌کلاغ” از مجموعۀ «آرتیژن» تلاش برای مروری بر شدنِ یک نقاش است که توانسته ژنِ شورمندش را با هنر چندان مراقبت کند که تجربۀ زیسته‌اش را بتوان روبه‌روی چشم‌ها گذاشت و تماشا کرد.
پروژۀ «جهانی» آغاز داشت، اما هنوز هم فقط آغاز دارد و مدام دارد متولد می‌شود؛ نقاشی که معلم است یا معلمی که نقاش؟ هنرمند دست‌آگاهی که بي‌ادعا می‌کشد و عبور می‌کند. نقاشی شاید هدیه‌ای است که او از مهربانی گرفته و مهربانانه به دیگران می‌دهد؛ زندگی و خودش را به دیگران می‌دهد. نقاشیِ جهانی چیزی جز زندگی او نیست.
