Statement:

The womb is the first dwelling of existence; a dark, warm, and timeless place where being takes shape in silence. Yet in today’s world, this beginning no longer carries safety. Environmental pollution—from waves and particles to contaminated food and air—has transformed the womb from its ancient refuge into a bed of uncertainty; a place where existence remains defenseless against the threat of non-being.In my works, the red thread is neither a mere decorative element nor simply a sign of a wound, but rather a trace of a fundamental question: Can one live being within the insecurity of the contemporary world? This question echoes a silent battle—a struggle between the desire to exist, the anxiety of collapse, and the temptation of nothingness. The beginning of human life in this world is interwoven with anxiety and rupture. These threads are not adornments, but signs of a fissure in meaning, a moment when non-being reveals itself in the form of a wound. The red thread is a boundary between being and non-being, and within the language of contemporary art, it acts as a conceptual gesture—an object that generates meaning not within itself, but through its rupture. Each work in this series is a meditation on the ontology of the wound: a wound that is no longer a refuge, but a point of rupture where existence is laid bare against the threat of non-being. This confrontation recalls the liminal state of an individual facing the truth of their own existence. This collection is an invitation to reflect on living with the wound; an experience of being within a world that itself is wounded—a world whose pollution threatens not only the human body but the very ground of existence. In this confrontation, the question of being lies not in the answer, but hidden within the wound itself, within the fissure, within the thread.
